Statement of Faith
We hold to the authority of the King James Version of the Bible as being our ultimate guide in our daily walk.
(Psalm 119:10) “Thy word is a lamp unto my feet, and a light unto my path.”
The Bible itself is the sole and final source of all we believe. All preaching and teaching in the Church shall be from the King James Version and in agreement with the Creed, Articles of Faith, and Church Beliefs on the Sanctity of the Family.
Creed
We believe in the verbal inspiration and authority of the Scriptures.
We believe that Bible reveals God, the fall of man, the way of salvation, and God’s plan and purpose in the ages.
We believe in the Deity, virgin birth, vicarious death, and bodily resurrection of Jesus Christ.
We believe that the blood of Christ is the only atonement for our sins.
We believe that salvation is by grace, plus nothing and minus nothing. The conditions to salvation are repentance and faith.
We believe that men are justified by faith alone and are accounted righteous before God only through the merit of our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ. Justification establishes an eternal relationship that can never be broken. This is eternal security of the believer.
We believe in the visible, personal, and premillennial return of Jesus Christ.
We believe in the everlasting blessedness of the saved and the everlasting punishment of the lost.
Articles of Faith
A. The Scriptures
The Holy Bible was written by men divinely inspired and is the record of God’s revelation of Himself to men. It is a perfect treasure of divine instruction. It has God as its author; salvation for its end; and truth, without any mixture of error, for its matter. “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (II Timothy 3:16)
B. God
There is one, and only one, living and true God. He is the intelligent, spiritual, and personal Being, the Creator, Redeemer, Preserver, and Ruler of the universe. God is infinite in holiness and all other perfections. To Him we owe the highest love, worship, reverence, and obedience. (Genesis 1:1; Deuteronomy 6:4-5; Hebrews 1:1)
There is one Triune God, eternally existing in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Each, co-eternal in being, co-identical in nature, co-equal in power and glory, and having the same attributes and perfections. (Matthew 28:19; John 14:10, 26; I John 5:7)
God the Father reigns with providential care over His universe, His creatures, and the flow of the stream of human history according to the purposes of His grace. (Romans 8:28)
God the Son, the Lord Jesus Christ, and only begotten Son. He is the Living Word of God (John 1:1-2), possessing both Deity and humanity. He is the supreme sacrifice for sins through His shed blood.
God the Holy Spirit, personal, having personality, power, feelings and will. He is the power that equips the believer for service by His indwelling presence. The believer is baptized into the body of Christ by the work of the Holy Spirit alone. (I Corinthians 12:13)
C. Man
Created by the special act of God in His own image and is the crowning work of His creation. Man is endowed by his Creator with freedom of choice, but responsible for the consequences of his choices; sinful by nature, but redeemable through confession, repentance, and faith. (Romans 10:9)
D. Salvation
Man can be saved by God’s grace through faith. (Ephesians 2:8-9) It involves the redemption of the whole man, and is offered freely to all who accept Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour, Who by His own blood obtained eternal redemption for the believer.
E. The Church
A New Testament Church of the Lord Jesus Christ is the body of Christ and is also considered as the local assembly.
F. Baptism and the Lord’s Supper
Christian baptism is the immersion of a believer in water in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit. It is an act of obedience symbolizing the believer’s faith in a crucified, buried, and risen Saviour. Being a Church ordinance, it is prerequisite to the privileges of Church membership and the Lord’s Supper. (Romans 6:3-4)
G. The Lord’s Day
The first day of the week is the Lord’s Day. It is a Christian institution for the regular observance. (John 20:1, 19; Acts 20:7; I Corinthians 16:2)
H. Last Things
According to His promise, Jesus Christ will return personally and visibly in His glory in the air. The dead in Christ will rise first; then we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air.
Christ will judge all men in righteousness. (I Thessalonians 4:13-18)
The redeemed of Christ in their resurrected and glorified bodies will receive their rewards and will dwell in Heaven forever with their Saviour.
The lost or unsaved will also rise at a later prescribed time to stand before God at the Great White Throne Judgment of God. (Matthew 25:31-45)
